This Southeast Eugene kitchen remodel offers inspiration and design envy.
Here we highlight a kitchen remodel completed in Southeast Eugene, which was part of a larger home renovation. The family reached out to us to improve the look and feel of their forever home as well as create spaces that they could enjoy for years to come.
The main objectives of this remodel were to update the style and functionality of both the kitchen and bathroom. You can see the bathroom remodel here.
This kitchen was dark and dated but was originally a well-designed functional space. This kitchen was stripped of all its components but remodeled within the same original footprint. A few of the design goals were to bring some elements of color into the room, designing a space that was bright and inviting, and keeping some of the existing natural wood elements to keep a uniform feel throughout the home.
The two tone cabinetry brings both a grounding and light quality to this space. The lower cabinets painted in a rich “Shoreline Blue” contrast seductively with the “Colonial White” upper cabinets bringing a light and bright feel to the room. To off-set the kitchen’s original wood tray ceiling, which the homeowners opted to keep, natural Hickory cabinets were integrated above the desk. Again adding contrast of both a richness in texture and color. All Castile cabinetry come standard with Slow Close Doors and Drawers, in addition the client chose to upgrade to a “Super Susan”, a Roll-Out Spice Cabinet, and Roll-Out Cabinet Trays creating an easy way to use the storage in low hard to reach places.
The antimicrobial “Alabaster Teltos” quartz countertop provides a bright, clean workspace. The porcelain white apron sink blends seamlessly into the countertop, then embellished by an oil rubbed bronze faucet, matching the door and drawer pulls used throughout the room. The custom tile backsplash features 2.5″x 8″ Equipe-Country ceramic tiles in “Blanco”, “Mist Green” and “Ash Blue”. The staggered pattern of the tile placement, brings movement to the room while creatively breaking up the solid colors of the cabinetry and countertop.
A naturally beautiful and durable Marmoleum floor was installed bringing a high quality, colorful and innovative design. The warmth of the orange flooring contrasts beautifully with the deep blue cabinets while balancing the elements of the natural wood. Premium stainless steel appliances furnish the room which include a fingerprint-resistant refrigerator, dishwasher, gas range, and microwave hood.
