As a child Jen spent many of her summers in Springfield with her family visiting her grandparents. The days were filled with trips up the McKenzie highway, hiking and exploring, picking fruit in many of the local orchards, swimming in the Willamette River, and running and playing in the large fields behind her grandparents house. Jen still has an aunt in the area and sees her regularly.
Although Forrest has always been a resident of Eugene, there are many things he enjoys about this neighboring city. Both of his kids were born in Springfield’s McKenzie Willamette Hospital. One of Forrest’s favorite places to take his kids is Mount Pisgah Arboretum, just a few minutes out of Springfield. He and his family can spend the afternoon hiking on the endless trails, wandering through the natural garden and playing in the McKenzie River which slowly meanders by.
