When Andrea reached out to the Castile team, she was looking to update her bathroom using warm, inviting tones creating a natural feel. Her existing bathroom was cramped and dark, so her primary goals were to create an easy to clean open layout, increase the natural light entering the space, while creating a timeless feel. Through Castile’s custom design process, Andrea was able to get a clear vision of how to reach those goals while staying within her budget parameters.
To open up the room, the partition wall that enclosed the shower was removed. This small change brought a substantial change to the space, allowing for a larger window to be installed which then granted a cascade of natural light to flow freely throughout the room.
A Neptune Wind Corner Bathtub was chosen, its unique corner design, graceful curved front face and overall depth make it an optimal piece for smaller bathrooms or clients who enjoy soaking and unwinding in a bath. The phenomenal Satin Grey White on White Cultured Marble shower surround glides from the edges of the tub ascending up the wall while housing custom recessed shelving, offering an easily cleanable solution for all of her bathing products. The light, textured grey color and satin finish surround offers an earthy feel while preserving the bright and pleasant feel of the room.
The Maple vanity with flat panel drawers and shaker style doors is stained with a warm Honey Pecan bringing a clean and natural warmth to the space while offering an abundance of storage options. A 3CM Cambrian Black Antique Granite countertop caps the vanity bringing a striking contrast to the cabinet and surrounding walls. Black knobs and pulls adorn the vanity allowing the powerful contrast of the countertop to flow down the face of the vanity and into the room. Topped with striking “Marina” teal colored custom backsplash contrived of 3×6” reef glass tiles laid in an offset pattern, adding a vibrant burst of color.
“Alpine Mist ” Marmoleum blankets the floor, being a traditional building product, it contributes a natural and soft element. It’s rich color grounds the room while balancing the dramatic effect of the countertop. Maxim Director sidewall vanity lights flank a simple Native Trails 30” circular mirror coupled with Chrome fixtures used throughout the room bring yet another timeless feature to its’ space, while adding a subtle contrast to each of the other prominent building elements that were chosen.
Andrea had fun with every step of the design and remodel process and was ecstatic with her new bathroom!
