Get to know the Castiles
Before Jen and Forrest officially started dating, they, along with a small group of friends, embarked on a memorable outing to Junction City, Oregon, with the intention of conquering the haunted corn maze at Lone Pine Farms. As darkness descended, they departed from Eugene and headed to Junction City. After a 30-minute drive, they arrived at the Farm, where they encountered a bustling crowd, all eager to brave the haunted corn maze.
Lone Pine Farms, nestled in Junction City, is a delightful destination, offering a pumpkin patch, fresh produce for sale, delectable treats, and a chance to interact with farm animals. It seemed like an ideal place for an evening of family-friendly entertainment. Little did they know that the haunted corn maze would prove to be far more terrifying than advertised, even during the purportedly family-friendly hour!
Once inside the corn maze, their group ventured through the twists and turns, initially enjoying the thrills of being spooked by monsters donning masks, flashing strobe lights, eerie noises emanating from the cornfield, and menacing individuals with chainsaws revving their engines. However, Jen quickly realized that she wasn’t quite fond of these frights. Approximately halfway through the maze, Jen found herself tightly clutching Forrest’s hand (an action she tried to conceal from their friends). When a masked figure with a chainsaw burst out of a porta-potty on the other side of the path, heading straight for Jen, her terror was so overwhelming that she tripped over her own feet while and landed in some mud. Since she was holding Forrest’s hand, he tumbled down with her. They not only ended up covered in mud but also with everyone in the group knowing that they had been holding hands. One could say that their first date was marked by that unforgettable night in Junction City.
