A Colorful Kitchen Remodel in Eugene

This featured project shows a bright and colorful mid-century modern kitchen remodeling project designed and completed for a couple in Eugene. One of the homeowners favorite elements of their home is its’ mid-century modern feel. When thinking about remodeling the kitchen, one of their main concerns was keeping the mid-century modern look and feel of the space. The existing kitchen was dark, drab and cramped and they were ready to create a space they could cook and entertain in while matching their bold, unconventional and playful style.
Thoughtful Design
In the beginning of the design process one of the homeowners was a bit shy about expressing all her ideas, the personalized design process used helped draw out her vision of the perfect kitchen. As you can see, these Eugene homeowners were not shy about using bright, striking colors in their kitchen! Upon discovery of this red kitchen sink they immediately knew they had to have it! This was one of the design elements that helped drive the look and feel of this space as it was created.

Color & Vibrancy
The tri-tone cabinets offer a unique and vibrant contrast to match both the countertops and backsplash, providing texture and energetic appeal! The backsplash, a vertically installed lime green subway tile and the countertop, a 3CM slab of Sparkling Grey Quartz. Dakar “Acacia Rum” laminate flooring was used in the kitchen and the adjacent dining area to give the room depth as well as keep the feel of the mid-century modern elements. Under-cabinet lighting was installed to light the work areas, while the red rope pendant lights add a pop of color, tying in the bright red accent wall and the bright red kitchen sink!
Color & Vibrancy
Ms. Avidan began her journey with Castile Kitchen & Bath in 2021 when she remodeled her bathroom. Enthralled by the results she quickly decided to enter into another design agreement to remodel her kitchen. In the first phase of the design process, the designer presented her with the 3D rendering seen here so she could conceptualize what her new kitchen was going to look like. The footprint of this kitchen in Eugene would essentially remain the same throughout the remodel with all surfaces being replaced for more luxurious options.
