With 2 kids and strong roots in Eugene, Oregon, these homeowners couldn’t dream of living anywhere other than their home in the Hendrix Park area. So, when they decided to remodel their kitchen, they wanted it to be comfortable and fit their family’s needs for many years to come.
The existing layout was perfect, and the cabinet boxes were in good shape, so instead of replacing the cabinetry, the existing cabinets were re-fronted and painted to match the new shaker style drawers and doors that were integral to the design. However, with the purchase of new appliances, adjustments were made to the cabinets to accommodate the new, larger refrigerator.
The classic subway tile backsplash in “moon matte” ties in nicely with the “Vanilla Satin” upper cabinets and “Atlantic Satin” lower cabinets, helping to keep the room light, bright, and interesting! The “Leathered Black Pearl” 3CM granite countertops provide a subtle transition from the backsplash to lower cabinets, giving elements of texture and contrast to this space.
One of the homeowner’s goals was to match the home’s original woodwork. In accordance, cork plank flooring was used, providing a combination of warmth and resilience to this kitchen while harmonizing with the existing wood window trim. “Thread” LED under cabinet light system was used to provide an excellent source of task lighting no matter where you choose to work in this kitchen.
These clients loved the Castile design process and the ability to control their budget while designing the perfect kitchen remodel ideally suited to all of their needs.
